Have you been taking some time out to enjoy your summer? I hope you have because one of the key ingredients to success is living a balanced life.
Slow It Down - Life is too short; don't let things pass you by. Stop and enjoy the things and people around you. Schedule more time between meetings; don't make plans for every evening or weekend, and find some ways to distance yourself from the things that are because you stress.
Manage Your Time and Don't Procrastinate - For many people, stress comes from simply being disorganized and procrastinating. Learn to set more realistic goals and deadlines and stick to them. You'll find not only are you less stressed, but your work product will improve.
Let It Go - It's easier said than done but; learn to let things go. Learn to recognize the things that don't really have much impact in your life and allow yourself to let them go and don't beat yourself up for not doing them.
Ask For Help - If you are feeling overwhelmed with your responsibilities, please get help if you can afford it. Find a sitter for your children, explore options for aging parents, and think about outsourcing some tasks and errands to service professionals. In many cases, you have options; you may need to take the time to find them.
Set Your Priorities - Sometimes it's easier for us to allow ourselves to feel overwhelmed rather than taking charge and developing a prioritized list of things that need to get done. Develop a list. Set priorities. And enjoy the satisfaction of crossing things off your list.
Simplify Your Life - Just about everyone takes on too many tasks and responsibilities, we're all trying to do so much. Find a way to simplify your life. Change your lifestyle. Learn to say no. Get rid of clutter and baggage in your house and your life.
In the end, the key word is balance. You need to find the right balance that works for you. Celebrate your successes and don't dwell on your failures. Life is a process, and so is striving for balance in your life.

How Are You Managing Your Time?
Time is intangible there are very few things in life more valuable than time. We are given 24 hours each day to complete some of our priorities in life. We must use our time wisely because we can’t stop time, bring back time, slow down time or make it go faster. One thing we can do is learn to manage our time and ensure we are spending it wisely. The first indications of time management problems are: missing important meetings, not meeting deadlines, pushing important things off to the next day, keeping long hours at the office because you were unable to get your work done in your 8 hour day or missing out on special time spent with family and friends because of unfinished work.
Effective time management will focus your energy on the things that are important to you. You have to remove the fireman suit you’ve been wearing to put out those fires while trying to keep up. With a better sense of control, effectiveness and confidence, you can be urged on to great things. Don’t get caught up by time wasters, plan your day and work your plan, focus your energy on the tasks that you have to do. Utilizing a To Do List is a tried and tested way to manage your time and get tasks done; effective time management is about priorities.
Another common problem is not having enough time to do the things that must get done. If you can’t get to all the items on your to do list, ensure that you schedule the most important things first by putting them in the order of priority. Prioritizing your To Do List can help you focus your time and efforts.
